I’ve always dug Minneapolis since my first trip to the Twin Cities in 2003, when the homie Bao Phi brought me out to co-headline Equilibrium, a monthly spoken word event held at The Loft. Anyone who was there that night heard snippets of verses that would eventually make it onto our first album. And it’s been love every time I’ve come back to rock shows at 7th Street Entry or First Ave. This past weekend, Bao invited me back to rock Equilibrium again. So I took a red-eye flight on Friday night/Saturday morning, grabbed lunch at Midtown Global Market, ran into the Seattle Seahawks at the hotel I stayed at, hit up First Ave. to check out the Brother Ali show, rocked a solo set at The Loft with Sandra Garcia Rivera, grubbed hard in Hmongtown, rewatched the Cotto-Pacquiao fight in my hotel room, and flew home. All in less than 36 hours. I brought this newly-acquired Yashica Electro 35 GSN with me, and here’s what it saw:
